It’s that time of year again when our biggest festival, Fantasy Fest kicks off for 10 days of mayhem (and a LOT of body paint and nudity after the first couple days)! Its like our Mardi Gras.

The festival kicks off with Goombay Fest in the Bahama Village with food, costumes, music, and dancing, followed by the Zombie Bike Ride where thousands of people tailgate at Ft. East Martello before departing for downtown. Each year draws more zombies! Both Goombay and Zombie Bike Ride are family friendly, but after that the remainder of Fantasy Fest is for adults (with a few exceptions).

After Zombie Bike ride there’s events like TuTu Tuesday, burlesque shows, fetish parties, the Southernmost “Playboy Mansion Beach Party,” and of course, the epic Fantasy Fest Parade. For a full list of events, go here: This year’s theme is “In Tune But Off Key,” so expect a lot of music-themed costumes.

We kicked off the zombie bike ride to downtown. Zappa want as a Zombie Hunter, Amber as a zombie but the creative takes on zombie costumes was seriously impressive. For an awesome video of the event last year, check out the Blue Paper’s Zombie bike ride video. It’s give a good sense of what it’s all about.

As Fantasy Fest continues on, we’ve still got some availability for anyone interested in joining our crazy Key West festival on our weird little island.
